Having spent the last twenty-five years operating Cooper Island Beach Club, a small resort in the British Virgin Islands we agreed that after selling the business, we both held a strong desire to move to England, Chris's place of birth and the country where our Daughter was attending University.
Morgana is from the beautiful Caribbean Island of St Lucia and has over 17 years of experience working in the retail industry, most recently at Selfridge's in Birmingham. Chris has spent the last thirty years operating hotels in various parts of the globe including the Caribbean and the United States.
We didn't want to be “just another shop on the High Street”, and we spent several months searching the U.K for the right location to begin our new adventure, finally settling on an imposing 18th century Manor House in the historic Cotswold market town of Stow-on-the-Wold.
House etc is all about offering an eclectic selection of beautiful things from around the World. We mix old and new with large and small, and spend a good deal of our time sourcing items that we feel will be appreciated by our customers. We both consider customer service and product knowledge to be of paramount importance, and are passionate about the vital role small independent businesses like ours play in today's retail industry.
